Group May Have Given Iran Nuclear Info

VIENNA, Austria — Iran obtained detailed instructions on how to set up the complicated process of enriching uranium, which can used to make nuclear arms, from the black market network of Pakistani scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan, the U.N. atomic monitoring agency said Friday.

In a report, the International Atomic Energy Agency praised Iran for its increased cooperation with agency experts probing its nuclear program for signs it might have been used to develop weapons.

However, it also said more transparency by Tehran was "indispensable and overdue" as agency inspectors try to determine if the military secretly ran its own nuclear program parallel to a civilian one.

For that, IAEA inspectors needed more details on Iran's enrichment activities and access to a site where the country is believed to be storing equipment that could be used in a weapons program, the document said.
